The Sinopec Catalyst Tianjin New Materials Production Base has been put into operation
On October 10th, it was learned from the Nangang Industrial Zone of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area that the Sinopec Catalyst Tianjin Materials Production Base located in the Nangang Industrial Zone of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area has been put into operation.
It is reported that Sinopec Catalyst Co., LTD., as a specialized company affiliated to Sinopec, is an internationally renowned, largest in Asia and top in China producer, supplier and service provider of catalysts for oil refining and chemical industry. Its products cover six major categories including oil refining, polyolefins, basic organic raw materials, coal chemical industry, environmental protection, adsorbents and additives, with over 300 grades. Spare no effort to build the "chip" of Sinopec's refining and chemical industry. At present, the performance of four of the company's products has reached the international leading level, and the performance of five types of catalysts has reached the international advanced level. Its comprehensive strength has ranked second in the global catalyst industry for three consecutive years.
Sinopec Catalyst (Tianjin) Co., LTD. (referred to as Catalyst Tianjin Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinopec Catalyst Co., LTD. It is located in the Nangang Industrial Zone of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area. It was initiated by Sinopec Catalyst Co., Ltd. in 2021 and officially registered and established in February 2022. The overall planning includes a 2,000-ton/year silver catalyst plant, a 1,250-ton/year polyolefin plant, a 200-ton/year spherical polypropylene catalyst and 500-ton/year carrier plant, a 3-ton/year polyolefin elastomer catalyst industrial test plant, as well as supporting public utility systems, auxiliary production facilities and living facilities. This project was constructed with the participation of enterprises such as the Fourth Construction Company of Sinopec.
Tianjin Catalyst Company has strengthened production technology innovation. Through process interlocking, intelligent recognition systems and DCS control, it has achieved the integration of production monitoring, management and operation, as well as the automation of the production process and the informatization of production management. This has driven the transformation and upgrading of product manufacturing from "traditional manufacturing" to "intelligent manufacturing". The production technology has broken the foreign monopoly, filled the domestic gap, and realized the import substitution of catalysts.
The total investment of the project is over 5 billion yuan. The project will be constructed in phases. The first phase has been completed and put into operation, while the second and third phases are under construction. The subsequent projects are in the planning and feasibility study report compilation stage. The silver catalyst plant adopts the relevant patents of Sinopec's independent intellectual property rights. The comprehensive performance of the three types of YS silver catalysts produced, namely high selectivity, medium selectivity and "high efficiency", all reach the international advanced level, filling the technical gap of this type of catalyst in China, further enhancing the adaptability of domestic catalysts to ethylene glycol plants, and providing support for breaking the foreign technological monopoly. The device takes powder mixing technology, continuous pelletizing and forming technology, and continuous calcination technology as its core. It adopts centralized control, automated material transmission, precise measurement and other technologies. By optimizing equipment, instruments and layout schemes, it reduces material consumption, energy consumption and equipment wear and tear, enhances the operational stability of the device, and realizes the automation of silver catalyst production, continuous process and device sealing. The production cost has been reduced, and the goals of stable product quality and energy conservation and emission reduction have been achieved.
The polyolefin catalyst plant adopts the complete set of production technology with independent intellectual property rights of Sinopec. The BSG catalyst produced has completely solved the two major problems of low bulk density of powder and easy clogging of the catalyst static mixer. It shows the advantages of high activity, less fine powder and good fluidity, and its comprehensive performance has reached the international leading level. The BCM catalysts produced by the device feature high activity, strong hydrogen regulation sensitivity, high steroorientation, good dispersion of polymer copolymer monomers, dry powder, and low fine powder content. These two new types of catalysts have broken the cross-border monopoly in the high-performance catalyst market and will reverse the domestic market situation where high-performance catalysts mainly rely on imported products. Increase the domestic market share of catalyst products, effectively reduce the operating and manufacturing costs of chemical enterprises, promote the opening of domestic brand products in China to the international market, and enhance the international market share. The device effectively enhances the operational efficiency of the production process and reduces the equipment failure rate by optimizing the mother liquor treatment technology, air release treatment technology and heat medium control technology. For the first time, a waste gas and waste liquid incineration system was adopted to treat organic waste gas and organic waste liquid, fundamentally reducing the generation of NOx. Meanwhile, a combined process of "rapid cooling + alkali washing + electrostatic precipitator +SCR" was used for the exhaust gas produced by combustion to achieve standard exhaust gas emissions and clean production.
