Another BDO project in Xinjiang has been put into operation!
Recently, the second phase of Xinye Energy Chemical Company's 200,000-ton/year BDO (1, 4-butanediol) project was successfully started up in one go, producing high-quality BDO products with a concentration of 99.75%. This has laid a solid foundation for the company's diversified layout in the downstream fields of BDO and new product development.
The 200,000-ton/year BDO project of Xinye Energy Chemical Company is a key project of the Autonomous Region State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, shouldering the important mission of promoting local economic development, optimizing the industrial structure and enhancing technological innovation capabilities. The company's first-phase 60,000-ton/year BDO project was completed and put into operation in 2019. The facility has been operating stably and has reached its full production capacity and efficiency. The second-phase 140,000-ton/year BDO project, with a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan, covers multiple professional fields such as civil engineering, piping, and electrical engineering of 38 facility projects including acetylene units, formaldehyde units, and BDO units. The construction period is 18 months.
At the beginning of the project design, the company adhered to high quality and high standards in terms of safety, environmental protection, energy conservation and consumption reduction. In terms of environmental protection, all volatile organic waste gas was deeply treated, and the total non-methane hydrocarbons were controlled below 20mg, reaching the leading level in the country. All tail gases such as acetylene and hydrogen were recovered, saving about 5 million yuan in funds annually. The BDO distillation adopts a single-set design, reducing energy consumption by about 10%. After the waste liquid is purified, the BDO drops to 10-15%. Through continuous optimization of the process, the competitiveness of BDO products in the market has been greatly enhanced.
During the construction period, Xinye Energy and Chemical Company established a project construction team, which was divided into six professional groups including safety and environmental protection, civil engineering, and technology. It carefully selected business elites to comprehensively handle project construction management work such as design, safety, quality, progress, and cost control. During this period, Ma Jinrong, a member of the Party Committee and Vice General Manager of Xinye Group, as well as the Party Secretary and Chairman of Xinye Energy and Chemical Company, and other leaders visited the project construction site many times, thoroughly understood the project progress, solved difficult problems on the spot, strictly controlled safety and quality, and required that the time nodes be closely monitored, forces be strengthened, scientific organization be carried out, and responsibilities be solidified to promote the acceleration and efficiency improvement of the project construction.
After the completion of the BDO Phase II project by China Communications Construction Company at the end of July this year and its entry into the material feeding and trial operation stage, the company established a command center for the BDO Phase II project, selected elite personnel from various specialties, and strengthened overall coordination in aspects such as personnel management, technical guidance, safety control, and material support. They studied and formulated the start-up implementation plan, organized staff capacity training, clarified the start-up steps, and made the start-up plan proficient. Further enhance the safety awareness and job skills of all staff.
After entering the critical stage of full-process integration, the staff of all positions in the second-phase BDO unit, in the cold weather, demonstrated a spirit of being particularly hardworking and combable, daring to face difficulties and challenges head-on. The professionals of all positions worked overtime and meticulously organized safety inspections of the BDO unit, including process pipelines, equipment operation, and process interlocks. We carried out solid work such as safety assessment of the device, cold and freezing protection of the equipment, and inspection and elimination of leakage points, ensuring the safe and efficient one-time successful start-up of the BDO device.
