750,000 tons per year! A propane dehydrogenation and propylene oxide project in Shandong Province is undergoing trial production
On July 29th, in the Dongying Port Economic Development Zone of Dongying City, the propane dehydrogenation and propylene oxide project of Zhenhua Petrochemical Co., Ltd. has entered the trial production stage. The machines were roaring on the spot and workers were debugging the equipment.
This project mainly involves the construction of a 750,000-ton/year propane dehydrogenation unit, a 30/670,000-ton/year propylene oxide/styrene combined unit, a 200,000-ton/year maleic anhydride unit, as well as supporting public systems, tank farms, flares, etc. After going into production, it will achieve an average annual sales revenue of 35.6 billion yuan, add 8 billion yuan in profits and taxes, and create over 1,000 new jobs. Yang Lei, the project leader and vice president of Yatong Petrochemical Group, introduced.
One prominent feature of this project is its obvious agglomeration effect. The reporter learned that the project fully integrates the resources of the Yatong Petrochemical Group to which the project belongs and other enterprises within the development zone, processing and manufacturing low-value-added propane and butane into high-value-added chemical products such as polymer-grade propylene, propylene oxide, styrene and maleic anhydride, providing basic chemical raw materials for downstream enterprises in the surrounding area. As a result, a good upstream and downstream raw material mutual supply relationship can be formed among affiliated enterprises. The degree of coordination between enterprises and products is constantly improving. Key enterprises can achieve "cross-wall supply" through pipeline transportation, which is highly efficient, has less loss and lower cost.
During the production process of the project, 550 million cubic meters of industrial hydrogen can be produced as a by-product per year, which is supplied to Yatong Petrochemical and surrounding petrochemical enterprises for hydrogen use. Moreover, the heat released during the reaction process can be utilized to produce medium-pressure steam for the enterprises' own use, thereby significantly reducing carbon emissions.
Next, the group will take the Zhenhua project as the leading force and continue to plan and develop towards green and degradable plastics along the directions of high-end chemicals and new materials, further extending the carbon three and carbon four industrial chains, and effectively promoting the construction of the high-end petrochemical industrial base in northern Shandong. Yang Lei said. Dongying Port Economic Development Zone will focus on "strengthening leading enterprises, supplementing industrial chains, and gathering industrial clusters", and spare no effort to attract investment, launch projects, and strengthen the park, so as to achieve new breakthroughs in the high-quality development of the park.
