The total investment is 11.8 billion yuan! This key coal chemical project has started construction
On June 4th, the site leveling project of the MTP process technology upgrading and transformation project of Ningxia Coal Industry Company officially started, marking that the project has officially entered the on-site construction stage.
The MTP process technology upgrading and transformation project is a major chemical project in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of the National Energy Group and the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, as well as a project in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Ningxia Coal Industry Company.
This project is undertaken by the Coal-to-Oil Chemical Engineering Construction Command. It will upgrade and transform the two existing coal-based olefin facilities of Ningxia Coal Industry Company by using the third-generation DMTO technology in China. The newly-built 3.6 million tons/year methanol-to-olefins (DMTO-Ⅲ) plant is currently the largest single plant under construction, including a 100,000 tons/year ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) plant, a 300,000 tons/year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant, and a 300,000 tons/year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant. Supporting facilities such as circulating water and tank farms should be constructed.
The MTP process technology upgrading and transformation project of Ningxia Coal Industry Company of National Energy Group, with a total investment of approximately 11.8 billion yuan, will save 4.79 million tons of raw water, 860,000 tons of standard coal and 100 million cubic meters of natural gas annually after its completion and commissioning, and reduce CO2 emissions by 2.2 million tons. The implementation of the project holds significant demonstration significance for the construction of a modern coal chemical industry demonstration zone featuring efficient utilization of raw materials, integration of resource elements, coordinated pollution reduction and carbon emission reduction, advanced and mature technologies, and high-end product series.
After the project implementation and renovation, the downstream products of propylene decreased while those of ethylene increased. The downstream of ethylene chose to develop HDPE, LDPE and EVA products, which is in line with the development trend of the chemical products market. Not only has it enhanced Ningxia Coal Industry Company's say in providing differentiated coal chemical products in the market, but it has also improved the company's ability to extend, supplement and strengthen the coal chemical industry chain, promoting the company's high-quality development.
