The sulfuric acid industry is transforming towards high-end, intelligent and green directions, embarking on a brand-new stage of development. From May 28th to 29th, at the 2024 Sulfuric Acid Industry Annual Conference and the 5th Council Meeting of the 8th Term of the China Sulfuric Acid Industry Association held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, Li Chong, the secretary-general of the China Sulfuric Acid Industry Association, set the tone for the new development stage of the sulfuric acid industry.
Li Chong emphasized that during the current critical period of China's high-quality development, as a traditional industry, sulfuric acid should sprout new buds, proactively adapt to the new demands brought about by the development of strategic emerging industries, and continuously make efforts in equipment renewal, technological transformation and upgrading, etc. Not only that, guiding the industry towards the direction of artificial intelligence is also one of the key tasks of the association this year. The association will guide industry enterprises to focus on technological advancements in areas such as industrial Internet, big data, clean energy, and artificial intelligence. At the same time, it will attempt to apply advanced technologies and means including Internet of Things technology and industrial robots to develop devices, equipment, and materials related to sulfuric acid production, enabling sulfuric acid facilities to move towards automation, unmanned operation, intelligence, and greenness.
Although artificial intelligence has not yet been widely applied in the sulfuric acid industry, its basic applications are already showing signs at present. At the same time, due to the increase in labor and talent cultivation costs caused by equipment updates and upgrades, durable, stable and intelligent equipment has become a necessity for enterprises. This may promote the further application of artificial intelligence equipment in the sulfuric acid industry. Liao Kangcheng, deputy secretary-general of the China Sulfuric Acid Industry Association, said.
Journalists have also noticed that this year, the intelligent transformation of equipment in sulfuric acid enterprises is in full swing. While reducing safety risks and enhancing the technical level of facilities, it has also strengthened their competitive edge in the market. For instance, the two sets of 800,000-ton sulfur-to-acid production units designed by Nanjing Hailu Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. for Bomp have enhanced the automation level of the raw material section. They can achieve unmanned operation throughout the entire process from unloading, warehousing, material distribution to outbound. The entire sulfur-to-acid production unit can be automatically operated from the start of raw materials to the final output of finished sulfuric acid. The APC advanced control system of Yunnan Sanhuan Sinochem Fertilizer Co., Ltd. has enabled the safe and stable operation of large-scale sulfuric acid production facilities. It can better control various parameters during the production process, achieve automated adjustment and precise optimization, thereby enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste during the production process, and ultimately lowering production costs. Not only that, Tongling Huaxing Chemical Co., LTD., as a large-scale national pyrite acid production enterprise, has continuously increased investment in automation and intelligent systems. It has successively introduced DCS systems and digital factory operation service platforms, enhancing the digital and intelligent level of daily production management in pyrite production enterprises, reducing energy consumption and production costs per unit of product, and further strengthening the company's core competitiveness.
