The Third Petrochemical Green Development Forum and the Annual Meeting of the Petrochemical Specialized Committee of China Chemical Environmental Protection Association were held
From April 23rd to 25th, the Third Petrochemical Green Development Forum and the Annual Meeting of the Petrochemical Special Committee of China Chemical Environmental Protection Association were successfully held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The conference was hosted by the China Chemical Environmental Protection Association and co-organized by the Petrochemical Specialized Committee of the China Chemical Environmental Protection Association, Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Branch. More than 200 people from leading enterprises, research institutes, universities and environmental protection technology providers in the industry such as China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, China Overseas Refining & Chemical Corporation, China Energy Group, Sinochem Group, Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, Wanhua Chemical, Hengli Petrochemical, Shenghong Petrochemical and BASF (China) attended the meeting.
At the third meeting of the first term of the Petrochemical Special Committee of the China Chemical Industry Environmental Protection Association, the 2024 work summary and 2025 work plan of the Petrochemical Special Committee were reported, key tasks were arranged and deployed, and three proposals including the proposal to increase the appointment of experts were reviewed and approved. At the meeting, representatives of the committee units spoke actively, affirming the achievements of the Petrochemical Special Committee in the past year and offering valuable suggestions on the key points of the committee's work in the coming period. The Petrochemical Special Committee should enhance its services for member units, increase its say in the industry, and provide consultation and assistance to enterprises in areas of concern for regulatory authorities, especially in the performance grading management of heavy pollution weather and the creation of waste-free groups, to promote the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the industry.
At the third Petrochemical Green Development Forum, experts from the Soil Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Petroleum and Chemical Planning Institute, the Shanghai Research Institute of Sinopec, and the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences interpreted the green development path of the petrochemical industry, the green development ideas for the industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and relevant policies on soil and groundwater pollution control in the petrochemical industry. Director Chen Jun of the Petrochemical Special Committee, under the title of "Green and Low-Carbon Leading Three Services Empowering", introduced the achievements of the Special Committee over the past three years and the key tasks for the next step. Han Zhenfei, the general manager and deputy secretary of the Party committee of Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Company, introduced the company's recent achievements in energy security, domestic research and development of large-scale equipment, and the development of new business forms in digital engineering. Sinochem Energy, BASF China, Shenghong Petrochemical Industry Group, Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Branch, Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Company, Wanhua (Ningbo) Company, Guoneng Xinjiang Company, Evonik Chemicals and other units shared their experiences in green development at the forum. Professor Han Weiqing from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, chief engineers from Luoyang Jianguang Company and Hunan Zhongtianyuan Company, and other experts in the chemical industry gave detailed introductions on advanced ecological and environmental protection technologies and equipment, as well as practical experience in environmental protection projects.
This meeting also released the "Typical Cases of Pollution Reduction and Carbon Emission Reduction in the Petrochemical Industry". After public solicitation and expert review and other procedures, the cases of eight units including Shanghai Chemical Industry Park were recommended as benchmark cases, and the cases of eight units including Sinopec Jiujiang Branch were recommended as outstanding cases, and were commended.
At the same time, a discussion meeting on the first draft of the "Guidelines for the Compilation of Performance Grading Reports on Air Pollution Control in the Petrochemical Industry" was also held, with representatives from over ten units in the petrochemical industry attending and exchanging views.
The conference organized the attending representatives to visit the site of Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Branch. Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company is one of the first batch of units to open environmental protection facilities by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. The "White Egret Garden" bird-watching paradise, the "Water Cube" centralized sewage treatment plant, and the first "Blue Hydrogen" hydrogen refueling station within the factory left a deep impression on the visiting representatives.
