The largest chemical ground flare system of China National Petroleum Corporation has been located in Guangxi
On June 2nd, the chemical ground flare system of the China National Petroleum Corporation's Guangxi Petrochemical Integrated Refining and Chemical Transformation and Upgrading Project officially introduced natural gas and is about to be put into use. The system covers an area of 210 mu and consists of 3 sets and 5 systems, with a total processing capacity of 4,089 tons per hour. It sets a record for the largest chemical ground flare in China National Petroleum Corporation and is also the first time that China National Petroleum Corporation has adopted an open ground flare in all its chemical facilities.
The system started construction in November 2024 and was completed in seven months. It was handed over on May 24, 2025. Compared with traditional high-altitude flares, open ground flares have advantages such as high combustion rate, convenient maintenance, no light pollution, and low noise. They can effectively solve the safety and environmental protection problems existing in high-altitude flares, and are more in line with the national requirements for the green development of petrochemical enterprises and the expectations of the public for the green development of petrochemical enterprises. They will strongly promote the management of enterprises to move towards high-quality and green development.
