The pesticide industry in Jiangxi Province has achieved remarkable results in innovative development
On January 17th, the person in charge of the Pesticide Management Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs delivered a speech at the first third member congress of the Jiangxi Pesticide Industry Association, stating that they have earnestly implemented the goal requirements of "taking the lead, striving for excellence, and being good at making achievements", intensified the innovative development of pesticide raw materials and formulations, and made significant contributions to ensuring national food security and ecological environment security.
Over the past year, the Jiangxi Pesticide Industry Association has united its efforts, taken proactive actions, and boldly innovated. It has accomplished a great deal of effective work in enhancing the quality of pesticide registration personnel, promoting self-discipline within the pesticide industry, facilitating safe pesticide production, conducting publicity and implementation of pesticide laws, regulations, and policies, as well as building an exchange platform for the pesticide industry. It has fully played the role of a bridge and link between pesticide enterprises and pesticide management departments at all levels, effectively promoting the healthy development of the pesticide industry throughout the province.
The innovative development of the pesticide industry in Jiangxi Province has achieved remarkable results, mainly reflected in three aspects. First, a number of large-scale pesticide production and operation enterprises in Jiangxi have been cultivated. At present, there are 71 pesticide manufacturing enterprises in the province, with 2,173 pesticide registration certificates. The annual pesticide output is about 200,000 tons, both ranking among the top 10 in the country. Among them, 17 enterprises have achieved annual sales of over 100 million yuan for the seventh consecutive year, 6 are listed or affiliated with listed companies, and there are over 10,000 pesticide trading enterprises. A large number of representative and outstanding pesticide manufacturing enterprises have emerged, such as Jiangxi Zhengbang Crop Protection Co., LTD., Jiangxi Zhonghe Chemical Co., LTD., and Jiangxi Xinruifeng Biochemical Co., LTD.
Second, a batch of high-quality pesticide active ingredient formulations have been developed. The total output of pesticide raw materials in the province is approximately 80,000 tons, including over 30 varieties such as 2, 4-drol, chlorfenidazole, imazalil, fenethoxazole, fludifenidazole, brassinolide, cabbage armyworm karyotype polyhedron virus, chlorfenidazole, and gibberellic acid. The output of formulations is approximately 120,000 tons, with 1,131 formulation products. Among them, high-efficiency, low-toxicity and low-risk pesticide products account for about 40%. The pass rate of random inspection of pesticide products in the province reached 98.5%, ranking among the top in the country.
Third, it has blazed a trail of scientific and safe pesticide use with Jiangxi's own characteristics. A total of 316 provincial-level pesticide standard stores have been established, and technologies such as the "Guidelines for Safe and Scientific Use of Pesticides for Major Crop Diseases and Pests in Jiangxi Province" have been promoted, effectively reducing farmers' behaviors such as "using multiple pesticides for one pest" and "increasing the dosage and pesticides". We have explored green control models with Jiangxi characteristics, such as rice-duck co-breeding and spider pest control, which have reduced the intensity of pesticide use. This work is at the forefront of the country.
The meeting pointed out that 2025 is the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and also the year for the revision of five supporting regulations including the "Measures for the Administration of Pesticide Production License". The New Year brings new hopes. The pesticide industry across the province should earnestly implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and in accordance with the requirements of the national pesticide industry's "14th Five-Year Plan" regarding "adhering to safe development, green development, high-quality development, and innovative development", accelerate the digital construction and innovative development of pesticide management throughout the province, and promote the high-quality development of pesticides in Jiangxi to a new level.
The meeting hopes that the Jiangxi Pesticide Industry Association and its member units will always keep in mind the "greater good of the country". It is hoped that the association and its members will always keep in mind the "major national issues" such as ensuring national food security, ecological environment security, and the quality and safety of agricultural products. They should strengthen industry self-discipline, strictly implement the requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of Pesticides" and its supporting rules and regulations, and operate and produce in accordance with laws and regulations in good faith. Together, they should promote the standardized, orderly and high-quality development of the industry. Shoulder corporate social responsibility to ensure the "three safety". Second, we must accelerate research and development innovation. It is hoped that the association and its members will seize the opportunity of the national large-scale increase in the yield of grain and oil crops, keep up with the requirements of The Times and the new trends in the occurrence of crop diseases and pests, optimize the new production process of pesticides, and develop green pesticide products that are highly efficient, low-toxic, low-risk and suitable for modern application methods, so as to make new contributions to ensuring the food security and agricultural production safety of our province. Third, we must adhere to win-win cooperation. It is hoped that the association will fully play its role as a bridge and link between the government and enterprises, further improve the information platform for enterprises and the market, build a home for the coordinated development and exchange among enterprises, and continuously enhance the overall market competitiveness of pesticide products in Jiangxi. Meanwhile, it is hoped that all pesticide manufacturing enterprises will adhere to the principle of mutual benefit and win-win results, unite and cooperate, complement each other's advantages, compete for development, promote more enterprises in Jiangxi to go global, and bring more and better pesticide products to the whole country and the world.
