Bohai Drilling adds a new "powerful tool" to its cementing materials
Recently, the new generation of high-temperature polymer liquid fluid loss reduction agent independently developed by the Second Cementing Company of Bohai Drilling, China National Petroleum Corporation, has achieved a breakthrough application. The cumulative on-site application has exceeded 500 Wells, marking a new "powerful tool" added to the company's cementing material research and development.
It is reported that in response to the technical bottleneck feedback from the Iraqi market that traditional liquid fluid loss reducers cause abnormal performance of cement slurry after long-term storage at 60℃, the company has spent three years working hard and, through over 800 sets of formula tests, upgraded and developed the core material of the BH-PAM high-temperature and saltwater slurry system. The new product adopts molecular structure optimization technology, which has overcome the problem of high-temperature storage stability and expanded the application temperature difference to 110℃.

The new generation of products not only fully ADAPTS to the high-temperature working environment in the Middle East, but also demonstrates unique advantages in the construction of low-temperature Wells. The relevant person in charge of the company introduced that the new type of fluid loss reducer has achieved "zero water separation and zero settlement" in the construction of the 40℃ shallow well of well West 46-28H in Dagang Oilfield. When it was combined with the latex system in the Su 75-68-34H1 horizontal well in Changqing Market, the stability and rheological properties of the slurry exceeded those of the purchased products by 15%, and the cost of a single well was reduced by 30% compared with before.
It is learned that the new type of liquid fluid loss reducer has formed a full-process independent production system with controllable formulas and modular processes. In the future, the company will focus on promoting six self-developed products including new expansion agents and dispersible toughening agents, and is expected to increase the self-product substitution rate to 70%.
