The hoisting of the world's first 3,000-ton semi-waste boiler equipment for water-coal slurry gasification
On April 17th, at the construction site of the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base project under China Coal Shaanxi Energy and Chemical Group Co., LTD., a 4,000-ton crawler crane extended its huge arm like a steel giant, steadily lifting the outer cylinder of the 3,000-ton water-coal slurry gasification semi-waste boiler to the predetermined position of the gasification frame, marking the successful hoisting of the world's first 3,000-ton water-coal slurry gasification semi-waste boiler equipment.

This 4.47-meter-diameter and 44.64-meter-high semi-waste boiler outer cylinder for coal water slurry gasification can be called a "giant", equivalent to the height of a 15-story building and weighing 610 tons, with a net weight exceeding the combined total of five Boeing 747 passenger aircraft. In a complex environment with limited on-site space and restricted rotation radius, completing such a highly challenging hoisting operation has no precedent in the domestic coal chemical construction field of the same kind.
Facing the difficulties and numerous challenges in hoisting, China Coal Shaanxi Company has meticulously constructed a "three-in-one" guarantee system. In terms of scheme planning, senior hoisting experts and technical backbones in the industry were convened for multiple discussions, and the hoisting plan was repeatedly verified and optimized. After countless simulation exercises, a scientific, safe and feasible hoisting plan was finally determined. In terms of equipment selection, the XCMG XGC88000 crawler crane is adopted. This "major national equipment", with a brand-new combination of a 114-meter main boom and a 39-meter fixed auxiliary boom, has made its debut as a 4,000-ton super-heavy lifting device in a China National Coal Construction project. The "Steel Dance" with a total lifting capacity of 705 tons and an operation height of 131 meters has set a new record for large-scale hoisting in domestic coal chemical projects.

As a typical case of environmental impact assessment of greenhouse gas emissions in China, the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base Project has been listed by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment as a pilot demonstration project for carbon assessment in the coal chemical industry. It undertakes two national demonstration tasks: a 3,000-ton gasification semi-waste boiler process and a 40MW ultra-high power motor.
Among them, the gasification unit adopts the first set of domestic air chemical (AP) semi-waste boiler process water-coal slurry gasification technology and the world's first set of 3,000-ton coal input semi-waste boiler, equipped with a water-coal slurry radiant syngas cooler (RSC), and builds the world's largest water-coal slurry gasification waste boiler and its steam system. The gasification frame is as high as 105 meters. It is approximately 45 meters higher than the traditional quenching process gasification process frame. After being put into use, the gasification unit can operate stably for over 8,000 hours annually. The heat generated is efficiently captured and converted into high-pressure steam, which can significantly enhance the utilization rate of coal resources and reduce carbon emissions. The picture shows the scene of the hoisting operation of the outer cylinder of the semi-waste pot.
