On April 18th, the construction of the China-Saudi Arabia Gulei Ethylene Project, undertaken by Petrochemical Transportation Company, reached a key milestone: the heaviest equipment of the entire plant - the ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol (EO/EG) plant area scrubber tower - successfully completed sea transportation, unloading at the wharf and transshipment within the plant area, marking the official entry of the project into the peak period of equipment transportation and hoisting.

It is reported that the scrubber transported this time has a net weight of over 2,500 tons and is a core equipment for the separation and refinement of downstream ethylene products. After the equipment arrives at the Gulei Port Area by sea from the domestic manufacturing base, it is transported by land using a combination of "120-axis modular transport vehicles +4 power units (PPUs)".

At 5:30 a.m., the wharf deployment and vehicle inspection were completed. After rechecking the saddle parameters, the unloading operation was initiated. The equipment was dispatched from Jiulongjiang Wharf at 8:30 and smoothly entered the factory area via Shugang Road at 10:26. After 8 hours of continuous transportation, it arrived at the designated position in the EO/EG device area at 16:50. After precisely alpositioning with the lifting gear of the 5,000-ton hydraulic lifting system, the support pads were fixed within one hour, and the entire process was stable and controllable.

With the successful positioning of the scrubber tower, the construction site of the project presented a bustling scene of "multiple equipment hoisting and multi-area construction". The equipment such as the carbon two hydrogenation dryer and the carbon three hydrogenation reactor tower in the ethylene plant area has been successfully hoisted. A 2,000-ton crawler crane is currently undergoing dismantling and relocation operations to reserve construction resources for the subsequent hoisting of towers and tanks in the ethylene and downstream plant areas. At present, the project has entered the continuous operation stage, and several transport ships carrying large equipment will arrive at the port one after another.
