The first drilling company of Bohai Drilling has been constantly breaking domestic construction records
On April 23rd, it was learned from the First Drilling Company of Bohai Drilling of China National Petroleum Corporation that recently, the BH50101 Drilling Team of the First Drilling Company of Bohai Drilling successfully completed the drilling of Well Yingshen 10. The completed drilling depth was 5,008 meters, and the second opening open hole section was 3,611 meters long, setting two new domestic records for the deepest well depth and the longest open hole section of a 168.3-millimeter second opening well.

Well Yingshen 10 is a second-opening small wellbore pre-exploration well deployed by Jilin Oilfield in the Songliao Basin. The formation fractures in this block are well developed, the bearing capacity is low, and the risks of leakage and overflow conversion as well as stuck pipe are extremely high. The middle strata have a high content of sandstone and breccia, and the drillability of the strata is poor. The pressure coefficient of the main gas layer is high, and the well control risk is extremely high. The annular clearance of the small wellbore in the long well section is small and prone to clogging.
After receiving the construction task, the company established a team of technical experts, conducted extensive research on the geological data of the Yingtai block, took the lead in compiling the construction plan, and organized the client and relevant parties to carry out technical analysis to ensure that the plan was theoretically the best and most feasible. The team strictly implements the full life cycle management of equipment, conducts a thorough inspection of potential hazards and customized training for positions, ensuring the smooth completion of the well drilling.
During the construction, the company dispatched senior technical experts to provide full-process tracking and guidance. The 50101 Drilling team fully implemented the "technology + management" dual-post supervision system. At key positions, they operated meticulously and made accurate judgments, successfully completing the core sampling task of a 168.3-millimeter small wellbore in the 4170.48-4179.04-meter well section, with a core sampling advance of 8.56 meters. The harvest rate is as high as 98.48%. During the drilling process, the team followed the construction design process of "one well, one strategy" and "one section, one strategy", effectively reducing directional drag pressure by carefully selecting screw drill bits and optimizing the combination of drilling tools. The risk of overflow was effectively avoided by optimizing the performance of the mud and digitizing the pump start-up. By optimizing drilling parameters and conducting meticulous job operations, the drilling was successfully completed at a depth of 5,008 meters, setting a new record for the deepest small wellbore in the second development in China and marking a new progress in the field of small wellbore ultra-deep drilling technology in our country.
On April 23rd, the BH70104 Drilling team of the First Drilling Company of Bohai Drilling set a new record of 1,634 meters of drilling footage in a single day for the 9-16 well in Nangang, Tianjin, which was drilled by the First Drilling Team of Bohai Drilling. The daily drilling footage reached "one mile", breaking the fastest construction record in the Dagang Oilfield and setting a new benchmark for the acceleration of drilling technology in the Nangang block of Tianjin.
Facing the geological challenges such as the soft and easily collapsing shallow strata and the variable lithology in the deep strata of the Nangang block in Tianjin, this company innovatively established a "geological engineering integration" collaboration mechanism, jointly with the exploration department of Dagang Oilfield and relevant geological departments to carry out stratum modeling, dynamically optimize drilling parameters, and achieve "one well, one strategy" for technical solutions. By optimizing the structure of PDC bits and the combination of drilling tools, the time for directional sliding and deviation measurement was reduced by 50% year-on-year. The equipment department simultaneously carried out the upgrade and transformation of the drilling rig system to ensure the stable operation of the equipment under high-load conditions.
Adhering to the concept of "shared goals, shared resources and shared achievements", a joint breakthrough mechanism between Party A and Party B has been established. Through daily analysis meetings, on-site guidance, and real-time monitoring by EISC, the precise implementation of technical instructions is achieved. In the shallow and soft strata, the construction plan of "high speed, large drilling pressure and large displacement" was implemented. In the deep layers prone to wear and loss, weakened parameters were adopted to effectively extend the service life of the drill bit, reduce the frequency of starting and lowering the drill, and significantly improve the pure drilling time.
This breakthrough marks a substantive achievement of the company's "lean drilling" concept, forming a replicable "technology + management" dual-wheel drive template. The next step will be to deepen the application of digital drilling technology, promote standardized speed-up plans, and continuously provide technical support for the efficient development of the Nangang Block of Dagang Oilfield.
