The Elkem Spark Silicone "Phoenix Project" has been completed and put into operation

On May 17th, the monomer synthesis unit of Elkem Starfire Silicone's "Phoenix Project" under Sinochem Group Co., Ltd. successfully fed materials. All production indicators operated normally and met the design requirements. On May 18th, the unit successfully produced high-quality products that met the superior grade standards, marking the successful one-time start-up of the entire set of equipment for this project.

 

 

 

Organosilicon materials have a wide range of applications and a high degree of industrial correlation. They are advanced basic materials that the state focuses on supporting for development. For a long time, Elkem Spark Silicone has been deeply engaged in the extension and specialization of the silicone product chain, especially in high-value-added emerging fields such as new energy, transportation systems, and intelligent buildings, where it has carried out in-depth expansion.

 

The "Phoenix Project" is a 200,000-ton/year organosilicon monomer and supporting project initiated by Elkem Starfire Organosilicon to meet the market demand for high-end organosilicon new materials. It involves upgrading and replacing the existing production lines. After the project goes into production, Elkem Spark's total annual production capacity of silicone monomers will reach 700,000 tons, and its downstream and specialty product production capacity will reach 300,000 tons.

 

It is learned that this project, relying on Elkem Starfire Silicone's own innovative technology, features low energy consumption, high purity, high conversion rate and low emissions, which is conducive to comprehensively enhancing the intrinsic safety level and operational efficiency of the enterprise. This project will provide downstream products with higher-quality and more economical raw materials, laying a solid foundation for promoting the wide application of silicone materials in emerging fields and continuously deepening the specialty strategy of silicone.
