An investment of 3 billion yuan! The 600,000-ton acetic acid project of Qianxin Chemical has been put into operation
Recently, the 600,000-ton acetic acid project production line of Qianxin (Jingmen) New Materials Co., Ltd. successfully produced qualified products, marking the successful start-up of the project in one go and its official entry into the production and operation stage.
Tong Gang, the person in charge of the company, introduced that as a key industrial upgrading project that the company is promoting, the acetic acid plant has attracted much attention since its construction. The project team overcame multiple technical challenges, strictly controlled safety and quality, and after meticulous debugging and optimization, ultimately achieved safe and stable operation of the equipment, with all product indicators meeting the standards.
Qianxin Chemical is the world's largest manufacturer of acetate and also the largest exporter of acetate in China. The Qianxin (Jingmen) 600,000-ton acetic acid project, with an investment of 3 billion yuan, started construction in August 2023. Since the project started, the project task force has been working in a "5+2" and "day and night" mode. Everyone gave up the Spring Festival holiday, overcame the impact of high temperatures and rain and snow, and worked carefully to accelerate the progress. The Chemical Industry Park Construction Service Center provided excellent project services, promptly resolved issues, and accelerated the project's construction progress. The project started equipment installation ahead of schedule in February this year.
Carbon monoxide is an important raw material of Qianxin Chemical. To accelerate gas supply and facilitate the smooth commissioning of the 600,000-ton acetic acid project of Qianxin (Jingmen), in October 2024, Yingde Gas, an enterprise in the park, invested 597 million yuan to launch a comprehensive supporting renovation project. The designed production capacity of the project is 58,800 cubic meters of carbon monoxide and 40,000 cubic meters of hydrogen per hour. On April 25th of this year, the comprehensive supporting renovation project of Yingde Gas was completed and put into operation 40 days ahead of schedule, laying a solid foundation for the commissioning of Qianxin's 600,000-ton acetic acid project.
It is learned that the 600,000-ton acetic acid project of Qianxin (Jingmen) New Materials Co., Ltd. is the first phase of the project invested by its parent company, Qianxin Chemical Group, in Jingmen City, Hubei Province. The second phase, with an annual output of 600,000 tons of acetic acid ester, is currently under intense construction. After its full completion, it will form an industrial chain from raw materials such as methanol and carbon monoxide to acetic acid and then to acetate ester, enhancing the synergy effect of the industrial chain. After the full operation of the first and second phases of the company, it can achieve an output value of 7.5 billion yuan, contributing to the construction of a 100-billion-yuan chemical circular industry cluster in Jingmen High-tech Zone.
