Recently, the Jiangsu Haizhou Bay Liquefied Hydrocarbon Storage Area Project, which is under general contracting by China National Chemical Corporation Wuhuan Company, has achieved a major breakthrough in a key project - the gas lifting operation of the third 89,000 cubic meter cryogenic butane storage tank was successfully completed. After on-site inspection, the alignment accuracy of the dome assembly was controlled within ±3 millimeters, achieving the three-dimensional goals of zero deviation in the construction process, zero accidents during safe operations, and zero defects in project quality.

At present, the construction of this project has entered a critical sprint period. Over 600 construction workers at the construction site are steadily advancing key procedures such as welding the inner tanks of storage tanks and prefabricating pipelines. It is learned that the planned construction content of this key project in the Ganyu Marine Economic Development Zone of Lianyungang includes two 89,000 cubic meter bimetallic fully enclosed cryogenic propane storage tanks, one butane storage tank, and the construction of six 3,000 cubic meter normal-temperature spherical tanks and a cluster of process equipment.

It is learned that this project has adopted the bimetallic fully enclosed cryogenic storage tank construction technology system independently developed by Wuhuan Company. This technology has been verified by multiple projects and features a high rate of domestic equipment production, low design redundancy, and significant savings in operational energy consumption. After the project is fully completed, it will form a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) distribution capacity with an annual turnover of over 2 million tons through an intelligent warehousing management system and supporting port and shipping facilities.

This breakthrough at a key juncture marks that China has once again set a new record for construction accuracy in the field of large-scale cryogenic storage tank construction. It not only lays a solid foundation for the mechanical completion of the project by the end of 2025, but also will effectively guarantee the security of the clean energy supply chain in the Yangtze River Delta region and contribute to the establishment of a national-level green chemical industry demonstration base.
