This year, China has built over 4,000 kilometers of new oil and gas pipelines
This year, the construction of oil and gas pipeline infrastructure in our country has been accelerating. Up to now, the mileage of newly built oil and gas pipelines has exceeded 4,000 kilometers, and the construction of a national natural gas network is steadily advancing.
The China-Russia Eastern Gas Pipeline, which took nearly 10 years to build, was officially fully connected recently. The pipeline is 5,111 kilometers long, starting from Heihe in Heilongjiang Province in the north and ending in Shanghai in the south, passing through 9 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government).
This year, with the commencement of construction of pipelines such as Baise to Wenshan and Hulin to Changchun, and the smooth commissioning of the first section of the West-East Gas Pipeline IV, a new pattern of "five verticals and five horizontals" in China's natural gas pipeline network is accelerating its formation.
At present, the total mileage of the main oil and gas pipeline network in China exceeds 100,000 kilometers. The primary pipeline transportation capacity has grown from 223 billion cubic meters in 2020 to 394 billion cubic meters at present, an increase of 76%. The daily gas supply capacity of the "national natural gas network" exceeds 1 billion cubic meters. According to the plan, by 2025, China's natural gas "national network" that spans east to west, runs through north to south, covers the whole country and connects overseas will be more complete, further enhancing the capacity to ensure oil and gas supply.
