The revision meeting of the national standard "Code for Post-weld Heat Treatment of Pressure Equipment" was held in Maoming
On March 5, 2025, the revision meeting of the national standard GB/T30583 "Code for Post-weld Heat Treatment of Pressure Equipment" was held in Maoming, Guangdong Province, hosted by the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute and the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Boilers and Pressure Vessels, and organized by Maoming Gravity Petrochemical Equipment Co., LTD. More than 40 expert representatives from well-known domestic engineering companies, universities, research institutes and key manufacturing enterprises gathered together to discuss the upgrading of industry standards, providing technical standard support for the high-quality development of China's pressure equipment manufacturing field.
As a core process in the manufacturing of pressure equipment, post-weld heat treatment is directly related to the quality and operational safety of the equipment. This revision work aims to optimize the existing standard system, provide more scientific and standardized technical guidance for the industry, and promote the advancement of China's pressure equipment manufacturing towards high-end and safety. During the meeting, the expert representatives present focused on sorting out over a hundred opinions and suggestions collected from the industry in the early stage, conducted in-depth discussions on the revision of the standards, and put forward many constructive suggestions, providing important references for the improvement of the standards. The meeting formed the draft for review and formulated the next work plan, laying the foundation for the final implementation of the standard.

Huang Siluo, the executive vice president of Maoming Chongli and an industry expert invited to the conference, introduced in an interview that over the past decade, the company has been deeply involved in the construction of the industry standard system and has led or participated in the formulation and revision of 12 national standards, industry standards and group standards. Xu Tong, a researcher at the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute, pointed out that this revision of the standard aims to adapt to the rapid development of China's industrial manufacturing technology. At present, pressure-bearing equipment is moving towards high parameterization and large-scale, and the existing standards can no longer meet the demands of modern manufacturing. Therefore, there is an urgent need to revise the standards to meet the requirements of technological progress in the manufacturing industry. The revision work not only involves aligning with international advanced standards, but may also require the introduction of innovative elements, incorporating China's new technologies into national standards, thereby leading the development of the entire industry.
