As of November 13th, the 800,000-ton/year full-density polyethylene plant of the Chemical Department II of China National Petroleum Corporation Guangdong Petrochemical Company successfully completed the production task of 20,000 tons of metallocene products of two grades, injecting a "strong heart stimulants" into the company's development.

 

The full-density polyethylene plant is dedicated to increasing the output and quality of metallocene products to meet the market demand for high-end polyethylene products. Facing complex processes and strict quality requirements, the personnel of the full-density polyethylene plant started from the preparatory work in the early stage. Engineers from various specialties required a comprehensive and detailed inspection and debugging of the plant to ensure that every link of the plant was in the best condition.

 

The production of metallocene products is difficult, and production fluctuations are inevitable. At 1 a.m. on November 3rd, the catalyst feeding system malfunctioned. Three of the four injection pipes were clogged simultaneously, preventing the catalyst from being injected into the reactor normally. Due to the extremely short decay period of metallocene catalysts, if the catalyst feeding cannot be resumed within 10 minutes, the reaction load will be significantly reduced, and there is even a risk of shutdown. The on-duty employee immediately reported to the supervising engineer. After multiple on-site operations such as plugging and unplugging the injection pipe, cleaning the unloading section, replacing the injection pipe, loosening the feeder, and urgently replacing the catalyst, at 10 a.m., the catalyst system resumed normal feeding without causing significant fluctuations in reaction load, ensuring the normal operation of the reaction.

 

During the production period, the operators strictly follow the operation procedures, continuously monitor the operating parameters of the equipment 24 hours a day, and remain highly vigilant about every tiny change in the data. In the face of several fluctuations, they have been able to communicate effectively and handle situations calmly. Through multiple timely adjustments, they have ensured the safety and stability of production.

 

In addition, the laboratory team of the central laboratory uses advanced detection technologies and equipment to conduct multi-dimensional quality inspections on full-density polyethylene products, ensuring that each batch of products meets or even exceeds industry standards. This strict control over quality not only reflects the company's responsible attitude towards customers but also highlights its high standards for quality within the industry.

 

The completion of the metallocene production task of this full-density polyethylene plant is of great significance to the stability of the company's supply chain and market expansion.
