The first Master Forum on Engineering Investigation and Design was held
On March 20th, the first Engineering Investigation and Design Master Forum of the China Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Design Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) was successfully held in Wuhan. The forum is hosted by the association and organized by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., LTD., a subsidiary of China National Chemical Corporation. Yu Xin, the rotating chairperson of the association, the Party Secretary and chairman of Wuhuan Company, attended the forum and delivered a speech. Rong Shili, the executive vice chairperson and secretary-general of the association, presided over the forum and delivered a welcome speech. More than 50 masters of engineering investigation and design in the industry participated in the forum.

The meeting read out the "Notice on the Appointment of Engineering Investigation and Design Masters" issued by the China Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Design Association. Rong Shili and Yu Xin presented appointment letters to the engineering investigation and design masters of the industry and took a group photo as a memento.
Subsequently, the main forum of the conference conducted in-depth and detailed discussions and research on three topics: how to inject new impetus into the upgrading of traditional industries through technological innovation, the development paths, trends and challenges of new energy and new materials, and the impact of AI technology on the field of survey and design and the new challenges faced by enterprises.
The forum adopts a relaxed format. For each topic, five masters are invited to the stage to give keynote speeches and clarify their viewpoints. The masters and experts in the audience ask questions and interact. Masters unanimously believe that the traditional chemical industry remains an important supporting force for the national economy. After the rapid development following the reform and opening up, China has become a major chemical country in the world. However, at present, the production capacity of bulk products is saturated, the production capacity of cutting-edge products is insufficient, and the pressure of energy conservation, carbon reduction and environmental protection is very prominent. Only technological innovation and process innovation can assist traditional industries, give full play to the role of traditional chemical industry, and carry out multi-channel, multi-angle, multi-vision and multi-method innovation and upgrading to rapidly develop new quality production capacity, which has become the innovation path for each engineering company.
The masters fully discussed that the development of new energy and new materials is the major direction for the structural adjustment of the petroleum and chemical industry, how to solve the way out of green energy from the perspective of chemical industry, the current situation of several major green energy sources such as wind, solar and biomass power generation, as well as the current technical and economic problems faced, etc. New materials are a hot investment area in the petroleum and chemical industry. We still need to explore and research in the development of new materials.

The development of artificial intelligence technology is reshaping or is about to reshape our working patterns. Artificial intelligence will not replace our creative work, but it can replace repetitive and heavy work. So there is no need to worry or panic, but we should also fully recognize and make full use of the value of AI to give wings to survey and design and help the industry develop rapidly.
After the main forum, the masters were divided into groups to exchange and discuss three core topics: "Empowering Industrial Upgrading through Technological Innovation", "Development of New Energy and New Materials", and "Application of AI Technology". They engaged in a lively discussion on the current pain points and difficulties in the industry. At the same time, discussions were held on how the masters of survey and design can play an active role in aspects such as technological leadership, talent leadership, quality leadership, safety leadership, standardization leadership, and digitalization leadership. The responsibilities and honors of the masters were also recognized.
